Author Guidelines

 Carefully read the submission guidelines as follows:

  1. Articles have not been published or accepted for publication, or are being considered for publication elsewhere.
  2. In addition to the manuscript, a written statement should be attached which clarifies the originality and free of plagiarism.
  3. Types of articles suitable for publication include research reports and conceptual ideas.
  4. Each article should be normally approximately between 3,000 and 10,000 words long and in form of essay written in English which includes:
    1. Title (10-15 words) in bold type and in capital each word (except for function words; Use lower case for function words, for example, prepositions and conjunctions) , and in 16-point size of Cambria font;
    2. Author's name (without academic degree) with an e-mail address and institution's name;
    3. Abstract in English (150-250 words) covering the background and objectives of the study (15%), methods (20%), main results and discussion (50%), and summary of findings and implications (15%);
    4. Keywords in English (3-5 words or phrases);
    5. Introduction (without sub-sections) covering the background of the study, main and specific research problems, general solutions and specific solutions of the research problems from previous scientific literature. Then, an overview of the literature that is closely related to the given solution which finally leads to the research gap. Objectives, problem formulation, statement of novelty or justification of the hypothesis, and scope of the study;
    6. Theory (literature reviews/theoretical construct) of the research (optional);
    7. Method, arranged with systematic subheading numbering;
    8. Results (with sections), include figures and/or tables in specific locations and write the full title of the Table and/or Figure. Provide a systematic logical explanation.
    9. Discussion (with sections). In the discussion, explain the research findings in detail, explain the data from tables and figures and illustrations, compare the findings with the literature, and discuss the implications and limitations of the study.
    10. Conclusion (without sections) that includes a summary of the main results and discussion points of the study. State the main findings and their implications. Discuss how the study contributes to the existing body of knowledge and suggest relevant areas for further research. Ensure that the conclusion is distinct from the abstract and provides a clear statement of the significance and contribution of the study.
    11. References must be listed at the end of the article and should only contain references that are actually cited in the manuscript. The bibliography must contain at least 60% new primary references with a span of 5 years back, and a maximum of 40% new secondary references. The bibliography is arranged alphabetically and chronologically. When writing the bibliography, please use APA style (6th edition).
  5. Conceptual Idea: Introduction, Theory, Theory Application, Conclusion, Reference
  6. Every section heading is in bold type and in upper case for the first letter, for example, Introduction, and every subheading is in bold type, in italics and in upper case for the first letter of each content word and in lower case for the first letter of each function word, except for the first letter of the function word which begins a subheading, for example, Data Analysis and Engaging Activities and Tasks. 
  7. Another suitable type of article is a book review. Please note the following requirements for submitting book reviews:
    1.  Books being reviewed should be newly published.
    2. Book reviews should be between 3-5 pages in length.
    3. A copy or scan of the book cover should be attached.
  8. The editors appreciate it if authors excerpt information from subsequently published articles in Majesty Journal.
  9. Articles should be uploaded onto the Majesty Journal website in soft files using the Microsoft Word application, double-spaced on A4-sized paper, using 12-size Cambria font. Each article, written in English, should be normally approximately between 3,000 and 10,000 words long.
  10. Authors will be sent notifications of the receipt of manuscripts and editorial decisions (whether the articles are accepted or not) by e-mail.
Submission of articles to Maspul Journal of English Studies (Majesty) is free of charge -- no article submission fees or article processing fees, unless the article is accepted and published.

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in Microsoft Word or .rtf (not .pdf) format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

Authors who publish with this journal, Maspul Journal of English Studies (Majesty), agree to the following terms:

  1. Authors retain copyright and grant the journal right of first publication with the work simultaneously licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution License that allows others to share the work with an acknowledgment of the work's authorship and initial publication in this journal.
  2. Author Fees

This journal charges the following author fees.

Article Submission: 0.00 (IDR)
There are no fees required for submission to review process of the article

Article Publication: 250.000,00 (IDR)

Manuscript Processing Fees charged IDR 250.000,00 for Indonesian authors, or USD 50 for author outside Indonesia. The payment includes DOI (Digital Object Identifiers) registration for each paper; check the similarity of the article with turnitin; and the final editing stage of the paper.

A waiver or Discounts are available for authors who find it difficult to pay the Article Processing Fee (APC), and they can submit a request to the journal editor.
