Abstract
This abstract discusses efforts to improve the legal protection of trademarks in Indonesia through a comparative study of Indonesian and United States law. Trademark legal protection is essential in securing the intellectual property rights of a product. This study aims to analyze the differences in trademark legal protection systems in the two countries and provide recommendations to improve the protection of trademark law in Indonesia. The research method used is a literature study and analysis of applicable legislation in both countries. The results of the analysis show that there are significant differences in the trademark legal protection system in Indonesia and the United States, especially in terms of trademark registration procedures, scope of protection, and sanctions for trademark infringement. Based on the results of the analysis, this study recommends several steps to improve the legal protection of trademarks in Indonesia, including improving legislation, increasing the capacity of relevant government agencies, and increasing public legal awareness of the importance of legal protection of trademarks. With the implementation of these recommendations, it is expected that the legal protection of trademarks in Indonesia can be improved so as to provide better protection for trademark holders.
