Abstract
This study aims to find out how conflicts often occur between Indonesia and China due to the struggle for ownership of the Natuna sea which has crossed the boundaries of the Indonesian Exclusive Economic Zone (ZEEI), as well as finding out the role of the Indonesian government in protecting the territory of the Sovereignty of the Republic of Indonesia from foreign ships carrying out illegal activities. fishing in the North Natuna sea area. The type of research that the author uses in this research is library study by collecting information related to the required data such as journals, books, magazines and the results of previous research such as theses, theses, dissertations and other online information media to obtain the desired data. Based on the results of this research, the conflict that occurred between Indonesia and China occurred due to inconsistency in laws and regulations which resulted in the emergence of unclear government agencies as well as violations that were often committed by China by entering the boundaries of Indonesia's exclusive economic zone (ZEEI) and weakening Indonesia's security. . With this, the Indonesian government has made a firm policy by establishing diplomatic relations with Australia, Japan and America to maintain the security and defense of the sovereignty of the Republic of Indonesia from foreign countries that cross the boundaries of the Indonesian Exclusive Economic Zone (ZEEI) as well as strengthening the defense equipment owned by the TNI to protect Indonesian security.
